NTSA (National Transport and Safety Authority), the authority tasked with managing the transport system in Kenya, issued a directive to all Boda Boda riders across the country to register afresh. This comes after many cases of crime, hooliganism, and traffic offenses by Boda Boda riders.

Furthermore, the government, in conjunction with st John ambulance, would conduct training on safety and awareness for all riders who would register for this exercise.

The registration exercise kicked off on March 27, 2022, and is set to come to an end on June 24, 2022. The authority enticed the Boda Boda riders with two mouth-watering deals to woe many riders to register, which are:

1. The riders who complete the registration process before the deadline will be given free services, but the initial costs or registration would resume after the deadline.
2. An NHIF (National Hospital Insurance Fund) cover, which will last for 12 months, will be offered to the first 200,000 riders who will register at the Huduma centers (Note that this is a first-come, first-serve basis)

To register as a Boda Boda rider, you should have the following items

• Your original National identity card (ID)
• Updated KRA (Kenya Revenue Authority) Pin
• A mobile phone registered with your ID

1. To get your Boda Boda registration certificate, visit the NTSA Boda Boda registration website and follow the following steps.
2. Enter the National Identity card number (ID) you used during registration.

1. You will get a verification code sent to your phone number (if you forgot your phone number used during registration, visit the nearest NTSA offices)
2. Enter the code and proceed to get your registration certificate. Download your certificate and print or save it offline.
3. If you did not register, you would get a prompt directing you to visit Huduma Centre with the relevant documents to get registered
