9th August elections unofficial results were transmitted throughout the night of Wednesday. As they became available, the electoral commission released polling station totals to its website, allowing newspapers, political parties, and other entities to construct unofficial results.
In order to be declared the winner, The victorious candidate must receive more than 50 percent of the vote and 25 percent of the vote in 24 of Kenya’s 47 counties. Failure to attain this threshold will result in a runoff election within 30 days.
Analysts believe that a judicial challenge is the most probable outcome, given the closeness of the election. Within seven days, any citizen or group may contest the first outcome in court. Many Kenyans hope it would not escalate further.
