If your TSC Teacher certificate is lost or severely damaged, you need to apply for a duplicate copy. Recently TSC issued new guidelines related to the process of obtaining duplicate teacher certificates online. Before we discuss the process, let’s first understand what the Kenya Teacher service commission has notified recently.
Lost TSC Certificate
TSC has updated its instructions on how to apply for duplicate teacher registration certificates.

The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has issued a new notification outlining how tutors can obtain duplicate copies of registration certificates online, in the event of original is lost or damaged. A memo stating the same was sent to regional offices by the TSC director which states that the new directive would help reduce tutor transportation costs. Regulation 32 (1) and (2) of the 2015 Code of Regulations for Teachers provides that the commission may issue duplicate certificates of registration for a non-refundable fee of Ksh2,055, he stated in the memo.

In order to apply for a duplicate certificate, make sure you have the following ready:
- Submitted a police report stating that you lost the original one
- Keep your ID Number, KRA Pin Ready
- Keep scanned documents ready
Duplicate TSC Certificate Fee
Kindly note that the concerned person needs to pay the fees to get a Duplicate Teacher’s certificate. The fee to be paid is a non-refundable fee of Kshs. 2050/-. This fee needs to be paid during the duplicate TSC certificate application form filling.
How to Apply Online for Duplicate Teacher Certificate on TSC Website
Along with registering qualified teachers, the commission assists those who have lost their certificates in obtaining duplicates. Teachers interested in applying must complete an online application at www.tsc.go.ke. Tutors must submit an original police abstract documenting the missing certificates in order to apply.
- Go to official page
- Enter your ID Number
- Enter your TSC number
- Enter your Surname, phone Number, Email, KRA Pin, Category
- Then at the end declare that “The certificate issued to me in my name is lost/destroyed”

- Click on “Next”
- Follow the next steps and make the payment
- After the successful payment, the application process is completed
- Within few days, you will be able to collect your new TSC certificate

Kindly note that, TSC requires all tutors to submit accurate information, and providing false information is a criminal offense. The offense carries a maximum fine of Ksh 100,000 or a 12-month prison sentence or both. Additionally, funds should be deposited in a bank and accompanied by a bank slip.
